Hodgepodge

Just got back from yet another business trip to San Francisco. I think I’ve spent almost half my time in California the last two months (working on a new social networking site of sorts). I’ll talk some more about it sometime soon hopefully. Anyway, I hoped to come back with a bunch of cool pictures this last time out with a new camera I got for Christmas, but I didn’t have time to go explore much and nothing I took turned out all that well. So instead here’s some cool things on the interweb I’ve come across recently…

iPhone Webclip Icons
With the new iphone update you can now save websites right on your home screen. My good friend Cory gives a quick tutorial on how to make a custom icon display for your site. I tried it out and it worked great. Plus it only took about 2 minutes.

People Hate Clowns
Got this one from Digg. A recent BBC survey showed that 250 of 250 children interviewd said they hate clowns. Pretty funny.

Huge Rodent Was Bigger Than a Bull
Scientists recently discovered an ancient rodent fossil of a giant mouse like creature. Yikes!

Design Police
More on the design front, here is a site that provides snobby print outs for people to use to point out bad design they see.

Back to the Grind

I headed back to work today after a nearly 3 week break. It was great to be able to get away from things for a while and decompress, but it was definitely a challenge to get back into work mode. I haven’t had this much time away from working since Christmas breaks in school. Anyway, as I found myself adjusting to sitting in front of a computer all day again I came across some interesting links:

Obama Leads NH Polls
Sweet! I find myself being pretty optimistic about this guy.

Talking to the Music Industry
Ian Rogers, from Yahoo, giving a presentation on why the music industry should leverage the scale of the web rather than trying to create scarcity.

100 Things We Didn’t Know Last Year
A variety of interesting tidbits such as… adding milk to tea negates the health-giving effects of a hot brew and kryptonite really exists.

Good day!
